Dr. Julie Sheen, optometrist, graduated from North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelors of Science in Psychology and continued her education at Illinois College of Optometry where she received her Doctor of Optometry degree. She then pursued her intensive residency training at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Newington, CT where she specialized in ocular diseases and still continues to practice and teach on a part time basis. Dr. Sheen is a clinical preceptor for students from Illinois College of Optometry, Salus University, SUNY Optometry, and Midwestern and Western University, and is an adjunct clinic faculty member at the New England College of Optometry. She is currently in the process of getting her F.A.A.O. Fellowship through American Association of Optometry. Prior to starting Eye Life Vision Center, Dr. Sheen worked at Aucello Eye Care, a private practice in South Windsor, for 8 years and continues to have a good relationship with the practice.
Dr. Sheen has also volunteered for vision screenings for hundreds of people in Honduras in 2005. She continues to be an active member in the community. Dr. Sheen is also fluent in Mandarin, Chinese.
I’ve always had great love and passion to help others see clearly, stay healthy, and look their best. It is that love and passion that motivated me to start my own dream private practice where I could dedicate my knowledge, skills, and expertise to fully help my patients experience what they deserve for their vision and eyes. With my husband by my side, Dr. Richard Sui, we’re going to make Eye Life Vision Center the place where you will get the personal care that you need to keep you looking great without compromise in ocular health.
Yoga, Zumba, shopping, watching UNC Tarheels play basketball, and traveling with my husband.
